Me english competence in 2013

In my opinion my best work in English that I've done this year has been the blog, because I could to do essay with calmly and with dictionary. Some of the essays have been corrected and so I have seen some mistakes. I learned to write better, because I don’t write well in English. I could to choose the most interesting themes for me.

Finally I think the blog is helpful to learn for to write essays better and learn new words. At the same time we use the technology.

My english progress from 2011-2013

After two years of batxillerat I think my English has improved in some aspects but should to be better.

Compared with the first writer and the last, now I do less mistakes although  there are some mistakes that I continue to do. I learned new words that I tried to apply in my written. When I do a writing always I learn any word, but sometimes I forget this words because I do not use.

Also there are words that I write in disorder. I forget to write words or I write unnecessary words, for example: the, of, to ...

In my two oral presentations I think I made the first presentation better than the second. The second oral presentation I had to prepare better because it was more difficult to explain. On the other hand the first oral presentation was an theme that we could to choose and we could to explain easy things.

In conclusion from the first batxillerat I learned many things. But I think I need to study more time and learn more.

Indonesia: religious minorities targets of rising violence

Every day there are more groups of Indianeses attacking places of worship and religious minorities members, for example Christians, Shiite Muslims and Ahmadiyahs. Indonesia recognizes six religions and there are more of 115 types of religious beliefs. Yudhoyono said that violent attacks will be persecuted and increase religious tolerance, allowing these people to marry... Besides the authorities must protect those affected. So far the government haven't given importance and many of the perpetrators of the attacks haven’t been punished.
I can not believe how these events still happen in the world, because in many countries there is religious tolerance and religions coexist without much trouble. People can live and share things although they are of a different religion. While any religious affects other people have the same rights as other religions. Some people don’t accept other religion than their own, but that doesn’t mean you can attack those people.
This situation in Indonesia can not change from one day to the other and neither can an individual change it. So the government has to do something to protect the rights of people and that way they can live together without problems.

Human rights

Human rights are freedoms that all people have, because they are human. These freedoms allow a person to have a decent life, regardless of ethnicity, skin color, sex, language, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, economic status...

They were created to protect people. Like this they may have a stable life, are respected and have freedom. So must haver equality, justice and solidarity. There are thirty human rights to promote a common and adequate life.

There aren’t human rights that I didn’t know they existed. Nowadays in some places the right to education is not respected. In many poor countries as Africa, children don’t go to school because they have to work to survive. Another example is there are places that don’t allow women to study. On the other hand in developed countries it is obligatory that the parents bring their children to school, so the country improves.

Emily Sosa Rishi has been friends for six years. Rishi is an orangutan. Now they forced to say goobay, because the keepers of Rishi think that soon it will be very big and strong to play with Emily. Although the orangutan has to grow more.

Emily and Rishi met when Emily's father went to reserve of animals with her daughter. Since that day Emili's father takes his daughter to visit the orangutan.

Now they have to be separated because orangutans grow faster. Although Rishi isn’t aggressive, he can hurt she when they play.

I think this story seems a movie. It's amazing how some animals be in contact with people as if they were a person. I feel sorrow that they have to be separated because they have always been together.

Sister Juana Inés de la Cruz

Juana Ines de Asbaje and Ramirez de Santillana (1651-Mexico City-1695), was a nun, and writer of the Baroque in the Golden Age. She  cultivated lyrical poetry, drama and prose. In 1667 she joined a convent with the objective to study literature and she had decided that she wouldn’t marry. Sister Juana's work is dramatic and religious themes. She died of an epidemic on April 17, 1695.

Sister Juana de la Cruz was a liberal woman of his time. When she was little found her grandfather's library and she began to read. She learned all that was known in his time, she read Greek and Roman classics, and theology. She wanted to know so much, so she tried to convince her mother to take her at University. The traditions of that time didn’t allow women to study at university. She disguised as a man to study at University.

This rough magic

Lucy played in the theatre and she was in a bad time in her life, so her sister, Claire invited her to go to her husband's house on an island of Greece. Claire’s husband, Tom was banker and he had sent to her wife who was pregnant to that island with the intention she was calm. When Lucy arrived she met servants, Laura and her mother. The dolphin swam far and she swam towards the rocks. Then she came up the path that brought to the castle and she met Max, he claimed that he hadn’t shoot and he hadn’t heard anything. The next day a neighbor, Godfrey had gone to explain to Laura that her brother, Barni had disappeared at the night when they sailed.

One day she and her sister went to sunbathe at bay and Lucy swam into a rock pool where she found a dead body of a man who was fishing. When she screamed all the neighbors joined. She knew there was something strange there and she started to investigate. That night she went down to the bay because her sister had left her wedding ring. In the beach she found the dolphin in the sand and suddenly Max appeared and he helped her to return the dolphin in the sea. Then he explained her that there was contraband and that the fishing was smuggler and he suspect of Godfrey. Finally she discovered that Godfrey was guilty of all events. When police went to arrest Godfrey, he attacked the police, he took the gun and he caught Lucy as hostage. But when Godfrey tried to escape, Barni stoped him.

Finally Godfrey went to prison and everything came back to normal. Max asked marriage Lucy and she accepted.

It was like quicksand': Fisherman gets stuck in the mud against a rising tide while digging for bait on the banks of Sussex river

A man was trapped to his knees in the mud. He had to be rescued by firefighters and lifeboat crews. He was trapped in the river Adur in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, but he was uninjured. He was digging for foud bait. He tryed to come out on of the mud but he fell to pieces. David Hill was walking his dogs. When he saw the man  in the mud he asked help. David Hill was spoke with he until arrived firefighters.

I think that He had had bad luck, because he was trapped unexpectedly.  Luckily a man went through there and David Hill could help he.

The three guinness world records that impressed me have been:

In this video a man lay on some nails and his assistants put more nails over and another man. In total, five men have been situated between nails. Finally a man  broke a sheet metal with a mass.

Another record is Dutch Wim Hof has 18 world records in contact with ice. He has been able to remain an hour and thirteen minutes immersed in ice. He use Tantric Tummo practice which he control his body temperature from his brain.

Finally, Tony Wright is a British scientist. He has been able stand eleven days without sleep. He was helped by friends and volunteers. Their diet consisted raw foods, tea, chew artificial stimulanting, play pool and he write a diary of his feelings.

These people want to become famous, so they do activities that majority of the people aren’t able. They can to do incredible things that I never can to do it. Many of these actions are dangerous own health.

My beer can is better than yours: Aluminum can-ovations for better beer drinking

Maker of beer are trying to attract consumers who look for new things. So how often makers change the advertisement and designs of beer. Beer always have same flavour. They had designed flags designs, with a logo that becomes blue color when it cold, other with a vent wide mouth... Now they had make ​​ adouble vent wide mouth and they announced it  with different ways to attract people.

I think the factory work is to find different ways of sell the product, in order to the consumers don’t bored because they always see the same thing. Regularly change the designs or ways to advertise for people think is a different product and they want to try it. Factories also increase their profits.

In my opinion there are incredible advertisements and I won’t be able to do it. For example the advertisements of coca-cola, after I see the advertisement I continue singing the song. That's objective of the manufacturers.

Malaria hope: Bacteria that make mosquitoes resistant

Malaria is a important disease in the world. Malaria is transmitted by the mosquito Anopheles Stephensi and Anopheles gambiae. Each mosquito affects geographical area and the Anopheles Ganbiae is more dangerous.

Malaria is transmitted to people by insects, so scientists hope that the administration of immunity of malaria reduce the infects.

Research in Australia has shown that a different strain of Wolbachia can prevent the spread of dengue. Wolbachia does not infect Anopheles mosquito. Therefore the scientist found difficulty  to confront with mosquito infected of malaria with low levels of parasites, because it means that these mosquito are more resistant.

Science progress the medicine. But sometimes the science makes some bacteria more resistant and that damage us, because it means that it is harder to fight against bacteria. That's a risk that we have to know.

I am writing this letter because I want in to express I agree with your communication. I disagree with the laws Tasmania about the violation of sexual private and gay men. In my opinion every person is free to choose her/his sexual orientation. Nobody should force other sexual identity. These days the thinking of people has changed, firstly because religious does not prevail in the people. But this is an example that of a place where there is prejudice and discrimination. Government should traits promote where tolerance and equality, because this are people.

Homosexuals do not hurt anyone. There are worse event that should be more important than homosexuality. This is not unnatural, the scientist have shown that there are many species with homosexual behavior.

Finally I want to say it is not fair to punish people who think or live differently.

Internet and its users can change the world for the better?

Internet is a technology that helps us to do a lot of things, for example to search information, to post advertisements, to communicate with other people… Every day the Internet gets better and we can do more activities. Also it is a very important media because we can obtain information about all the world. You can see the problems of other people and you can help them. With the social networks you can communicate with these people.

On the other hand in Internet there are pages with false information, there are people who steal and the Internet creates addiction. I believe that the Internet can’t change the world for the better, but it can better some things if we want to do it. We must be careful with some pages and activities. 

The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is an American television series created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prat and premiered on September 24, 2007.

The main caracters are four boys and a girl: Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, Penny, a waitress who wants to be an actress, Leonard, Sheldon, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrappali astrophysicist. In the series show the live these freaks. They are very smart guys and some of his hobbies are strange and some don’t know how to be with girls or with other people. Penny is the girl and she lives in front of them. She seems a very normal girl who spends time with the boys, but she hasn’t nothing in common with them.

Spring Break

Spring break is one week a year when college students can take a break from school, them boyfriend and girlfriend, concerns... American students and Canadians enjoy a week's holiday on the beaches of Mexico, because their country this types party aren’t allowed. This tradition of U.S. universities began in 1960. Every time people from other countries are going to this event for fun. They plan ahead to get the best deal. The most visited places are South Padre Island, Texas, Panama, Florida, Breckenridge, Colorado, Nicaragua, Bahamas, Acapulco and Cancun.

Young people enjoy open bar, of music, dancing and surrounded by thousands of people. Also, this week make shows of artists and DJs. People show in the street drugs, alcohol, have sex in public and they undress.

Northern Ireland assembly members seek to outlaw private abortion clinics

The Democratic Unionist Paul Girvan wants to promote legislation in the Northern Ireland Assembly that would make abortions illegal SNS outside the province. Pro-choice and women's groups have criticized the decision, because the women of Northern Ireland can access abortion pills online or have a medical termination in England.

Abortion is an important theme for public health and must be controlled and it is important obey law of abortion. In Northern Ireland don’t agree that they should give a reward to the health centers where made abortions. These criticisms could cause the closure of the only private clinic operating for abortion in Ireland. Abortion is only allowed if the mother is in danger.

There are others people who believe abortion is for the welfare of the mother and child. This has nothing to do with financial benefits.

I can’t believe that the state decides that you have a child whith the abortion law. Abortion should be a decicion each woman. There are many ways of thinking, there are people who are in favour or against of this. But having a child is a big responsibility that we haven,t to accept, because other people are against.

Mother bitten on the bottom by spider in Spain nearly dies after wound became infected by flesh-eating bug

Ms. Isaac, 58, was bitten in the leg by a spider while she was holidays in the swimming pool in southern Spain. After a few days she began to feel ill and she suffered a bruise on his thigh that began to spread. When she couldn’t get up was taken to hospital and admitted to intensive care and surgeons operated to remove the dead tissue from the leg. After a week leg swelled and the bruise had grown. That lady hasn’t luck, because she mustn’t  be nice to be in another country on holidays and admitted to hospital emergency rooms. Only a spider bite the Ms. Isaac spent months visiting the doctor. I didn’t know that a spider bite could cause those effects.

I think I should have prepared better oral presentation and that would help me be less nervous. I should haven’t taken the peaper where I had written what I had to say, because this cause that I read the paper.

In the end, the computer problems weren’t  looking good the graphics and my explanation was difficult to understand.

This camp is against poaching, because cutting the tusks without the knowledge of their anatomy is dangerous for animals. Trade of tusk caused that these animals are endangered, so they want to take steps to not continue happening. But there are African states agree that elephants are killed. Although the trade in Thailand is legal if the tusks are of indigenous herds that have been domesticated.

I agree shouls punish the poaching and the illegal sale of the tusks. The avarice of man are making this kind of elephants desappear. We must protect them, because they are part of the naturalesa, the world in which we live. Also keep in mind that there are people who sell the tusks legally and these traders are hurt.

In the city of Tamworth the air is polluted with the smell of grilled burgers and fried food. This is the fat capital of Britain'that affects adults and children. There you can see plenty of fast food shops.

A example is a woman who ate too much and her meal had too much calories. Shannon had always controlled her weight, for having strong bones and be healthy. When his daughter was born she began reducing the amount of food, she did more exercise and is now thinner.

The Tamworth pig is a local delicacy, one of the oldest of all varieties of pig, was raised for the first time in this city. However, now this species is endangered and is protected, so you can’t eat it. People continue eating fried pig and other fried foods caused that to most of the population mitat is obese. The population blame politics for installing so many fast food restaurants. But that isn’t so, everyone chooses what they want eat, no one forced them. These people don’t know what is a healthy diet and connsider that McDonalds is a healthy food restaurant.

Usual diseases in this area are heart disease and diabetes. Health service wants to invest money for obesity prevention. They built the Snowdome with a pool of 25 m but the people don’t use it. The population don’t  do any sports and they don’t think of themselves as fat people.

In my opinion, they should do a campaign for people of that city to realize that eating so much junk food causes health problems. They gradually improve their life and that would cause some junk food restaurants to close because people would not go. Although we must bear in mind that Cambar eating habits is difficult.

They jumped out of the balloon when the balloon yet hadn’t risen to a great height. The balloon caught fire because they believe that someone cut the gas burner tube. Ahmed Mohamed Al Yemen, the deputy attorney of Luxor, is the person in charge of investigating the accident. Investigatiors are looking for evidence of a technical malfunction of a gas canister used, because it seems that is responsible for the accident.

The balloons are controlled so that there is no accident, so this event is a bit strange. I think that may have been caused because the gas burner tube was cut. Also that part of the globe is the one that tis more controlled so as not to cause any explosion, because gas is a dangerous product.

Often these attacks affect to women and are produced by ex-boyfriends orex-husbands. These women are affected physically and psychologically, because they have afraid to go outside or because they don’t want people to look at them.

How to celebrate Valentine?

On 14 February is Valentine's Day, this day people show to their loved ones their appreciation. This day is celebrated in different ways depending on the country. For example in Japan they celebrate Tanobata and women are who give chocolate to men of the family, friends or colleagues, as if it were an obligation. But the woman who loves a man gives him another sweet, chocohommei. Also thousands of lovers go to Mount Fuji, to play three times the Bellof Love to convert the special friend in to a true love. In France, in the past, young women went to a house and the men to another, but they were in front so they could talk through the windows. If a man was not attracted by any women, he left the house. If that happen to a woman, to feel good, she could light a fire where she burned photos of the man and she insulted him. In Italy the tradition is that women wait in front of the window of their house for hours before the down and wait for their men to come. This is because a legend wrote by William Shakespeare in Hamlet, say the first man to appear, will marry them that year. Finally in England children celebrate it with special songs and receive gifts like candy, fruit or money. In some areas, they bake special Valentine biscuits.
